Westmount

Running south of Commissioners Road West to Southdale Road and east of Colonel Talbot Road over to Wharncliffe Road, Westmount is an older area that was developed by Sifton Properties in the late 1960s.

Having always been planned as a community around Westmount Shopping Centre, homes of all shapes and sizes exist here, from fully detached to townhouses and high-rise condos, all at a variety of price points. The homes in Westmount might be older, but with that comes larger homes on larger lots and more traditional house layouts.

Westmount remains a popular place to raise a family, with many parks in a short vicinity. Southwest Optimist Park features two baseball diamonds, two soccer fields, a batting cage, and a concession stand, while Westmount Lions Park and Jesse Davidson Park both feature soccer and baseball facilities. Viscount Woods Park offers a walking trail as well.

Although there's a new commercial hub at the corner of Southdale and Wonderland that features quick eats, many banking institutions and more, Westmount Shopping Centre is still popular with more than 60 stores inside. There's also a Cineplex nearby that features 11 movie theatres, including three for VIP showings.
